Shreck joins Kent on loan

Charlie Shreck has been allowed to join Kent on a month's loan after being plagued by injuries last season for Nottinghamshire
Nottinghamshire's Charlie Shreck has joined Kent on a one-month loan deal and could make his debut in the first game of the season against Essex tomorrow.
Shreck, who signed a two-year contract to stay at Trent Bridge in December, has been an important player for Nottinghamshire for several years but played a reduced role in their LV= County Championship title-winning campaign last year after suffering from repeated injuries.
With Paul Franks, Andre Adams, Darren Pattinson, Luke Fletcher and Ben Phillips vying for seam-bowling positions, the club have allowed Kent to take Shreck with a view to improving his match condition.
“Charlie has made excellent progress in his rehabilitation but he would have started the season in our second XI and the opportunity to play four-day cricket with Kent is ideal for him at this stage of the season,” said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
“He is still very much part of our plans and if he can hone his form and fitness with Kent then he can perform a role for us when he returns to Trent Bridge in May.”
