Warne advises Kent coaches

Australia leg-spin legend Shane Warne gave coaches at Kent's academy the benefit of his experience when he led a coaching master-class at the St Lawrence Ground.

Warne, who retired after helping Australia regain the Ashes last year, took 708 Test match wickets during an illustrious career that included a spell as Hampshire captain.

The coaching session was made possible by 888.com whom Warne represents at poker tournaments across the globe.

Kent academy manager James Medhurst said: “It was fantastic to have Shane Warne come to see us at the academy. It was a great opportunity for the players and coaches on show to benefit from the wealth of experience that someone like Shane has.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to our partners, 888.com, for choosing Kent County Cricket Club. I think it further outlines the fact that people realise we have very impressive facilities. Everyone enjoyed it. It was an excellent day for all concerned.”
