Abid handed spin scholarship
Lancashire leg-spinner Mo Abid has been awarded a scholarship to spend two weeks with world-renowned spin coach Terry Jenner at his cricket academy in Adelaide.
Abid has represented England Under-15 and featured for Lancashire at both Under-15 and Under-17 levels.
He has been part of Lancashire’s spin skill sets, which form part of the emerging performance programme, since its inception 12 months ago, under the guidance of the Gary Yates and Chris Benbow.

Terry Jenner is a respected coach in the difficult art of leg-spin bowling and will impart advice to Abid
On confirmation of the scholarship, Yates said; “Mo is one of several promising young spinners that we have within the Lancashire skill sets programme.
“Having previously attended in a coaching capacity, I know this truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any young wrist-spinner to learn from Shane Warne’s former coach and mentor.
“Mo already demonstrates many of the attributes needed to be a successful first-class spinner, but learning from a former International wrist-spinner will provide the mental and tactical insight needed to take his game to the next level.”
Earlier this season, Abid was invited to attend a talent identification programme for spin bowlers at the National Peroformance Centre at Loughborough, from where he was selected by Jenner and David Parsons to be the recipient of this scholarship.
