James Anderson, who bowled 35 overs in Lancashire's win over Warwickshire, will feature against Essex this week
James Anderson will play a second successive game for Lancashire this week before linking up with England for the World Twenty20.
The pace bowler’s appearance in the opening LV= County Championship game against Warwickshire was his first comptitive action since returning from England’s tour of South Africa in January - and his first game for Lancashire in almost a year.
Having sat out England’s trip to Bangladesh to rest a knee injury, Anderson suffered no adverse reaction to bowling 35 overs in the 121-win over Warwickshire, and retains his place in the side for the Division One clash with Essex at Chelmsford starting tomorrow.
Anderson is due to fly out to the West Indies with the England squad on Sunday - the day after the championship encounter is due to finish - although the continuing problems caused by volcanic ash may delay their departure.
Simon Kerrigan, the 20-year-old left-arm spinner who took 5-43 in the second innings - and 7-87 in the match - on his Lancashire debut last week, is expected to keep his place in the side as Gary Keedy continues his recovery from a broken collar bone.
Michael Yardy and Luke Wright, Anderson's fellow England squad members, will play no part in Sussex's game against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
