Lancs stars visit children's hospital
Seven Lancashire players and cricket manager Mike Watkinson made a special visit to the Manchester Children’s Hospital in Pendlebury yesterday.
Glen Chapple, Oliver Newby, Luke Sutton, Mal Loye, Karl Brown, Simon Kerrigan and Kyle Hogg joined Watkinson to visit the children on three wards.
The players were on hand to chat to the kids and parents, sign autographs on mini-bats and give out presents which included cuddly versions of Lanky the giraffe, the Lancashire mascot.
Hogg said: “It’s been really good for us to come here today. We’re in a privileged situation as cricketers and to come in and try and cheer up some less fortunate children is really important.”
Lancashire would like to thank club partners Kukri Sports and Vimto for their kind donations.
