Berrington makes Foxes move

Leicestershire have swooped to sign Scotland all-rounder Richie Berrington on a month’s loan.

Berrington, whose addition gives a much-needed boost to a squad currently hampered by injuries to Will Jefferson, Nathan Buck, Matthew Hoggard and Paul Dixey, struck 51 and 46 in Clydesdale Bank 40 games against the Foxes last season.

The 25-year-old, who has one first-class century, will still be available for Scotland in this season’s CB40 campaign.

The loan will be reviewed at the end of the initial month.
