Thakor takes up Leicestershire offer
Promising batsman Shiv Thakor has signed a three-year summer contract with Leicestershire.
The 17-year-old, who has represented England at Under-15 and U-17 level, will combine studying at Uppingham School with the start of his cricket career.
Thakor is part of the county’s academy and captained their U-17s to a league and cup double last season.
He also played for the second XI and made a top score of 96 in the final game of the campaign against Essex.
Earlier in his career, Thakor became the youngest centurion for Leicestershire in age-group cricket, making three figures for the under-nines against Surrey.
He also scored 237 for Loughborough Grammar School against Nottingham High School in the David English/Bunbury under-13s national schools championship semi-final.
Leicestershire chief executive Mike Siddall said: "I am delighted that Shiv has signed a summer contract.
"He is another product of Leicestershire's excellent development system and I look forward to seeing him progress to the first XI in due course."
