Middlesex announce squad

Owais Shah was an integral part of Middlesex's glorious Twenty20 Cup campaign

Owais Shah has been named in Middlesex's Twenty20 Champions League squad, but there is no place for Andrew Strauss who will be on England Test duty.

A decision on Shah’s availability will not be made until after the one-day series against India has finished on December 2.

If Shah is not selected for the three-day Test warm-up match in Baroda he will join up with Middlesex for the group matches of the Champions League tournament.

Fellow batsman Nick Compton, who was not part of the Stanford Super Series party, is named in the 15-man squad which is led by Shaun Udal.

They are flying out to India on Thursday and are paying their own way for two days in order to gain as much practice as possible for the tournament which starts on December 3.
