Howgego leaves Northants

Northamptonshire have released Ben Howgego from his contract.

The 24-year-old opening batsman completed only 21 first-class matches since making his debut in 2008.

Northants Cricket chief executive David Smith said: “Ben hasn’t been able to find a place in the side this season and unfortunately it’s one of those things that happen in cricket.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ben for all his efforts during his time here at the County Ground, and we wish Ben all the best in his future endeavours both in and out of cricket.”
