Adams' season could be over
Nottinghamshire’s LV= County Championship title aspirations have suffered a blow with the news Andre Adams could be occupying the sidelines for the rest of the campaign.
The New Zealand seamer, who is third in the Division One wicket-taking charts with 54 scalps, has played an instrumental part in lifting Notts up to third place, 27 points behind leaders Warwickshire who they are playing this week.
However, the 37-year-old has been struggling with a calf injury and, after he limped off at Edgbaston yesterday, director of cricket Mick Newell fears that could be his season ended.
He told the club website: “I don’t think we will see him again this season. It’s quite a bad one really. We tried to get him right for this game, but it’s gone again and I think that’s it for the season.”
