Adams commits to Notts

Andre Adams, Notts' most successful bowler this summer, has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract
Nottinghamshire have secured the services of all-rounder Andre Adams for a further two years.
The 34-year-old was Nottinghamshire’s leading wicket-taker in the LV= County Championship this summer, with 43 victims at 28.46 apiece. He also scored 300 runs.
Having secured a two-year deal on the back of a short spell at Trent Bridge in 2007, he has now put pen to paper on two-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2011 campaign.
“Andre has been the pick of our bowlers this season and he’s maintained his form when others have struggled,” said Notts director of cricket Mick Newell.
“We need to get the best out of our bowlers and Andre has shown that he is a very important player for us and has the ability to contribute in all competitions.
“He’ll feel that he could have done a bit more in one day matches this season but he will be an important part of our team for at least two more seasons.”
Adams played one Test and 42 one-day internationals for New Zealand, the most recent in early 2007, but qualifies as a Kolpak signing for Notts through his West Indian parentage. He is due to spend the winter playing grade cricket in Sydney.
