Mullaney snapped up by Notts

Steven Mullaney will line up for Notts next season after signing a two-year contract at Trent Bridge
Nottinghamshire have moved quickly to announce the signing of all-rounder Steven Mullaney.
Mullaney has signed a deal to move to Trent Bridge for the next two years after turning down a similar offer from Lancashire yesterday.
The 22-year-old, a product of the Lancashire Academy, made just three first-team appearances this season having signed professional terms at Old Trafford in 2006.
Mullaney has also represented England England Under-19s at the 2006 World Cup, playing in the same side as new team-mate Graeme White, who joined Notts from Northamptonshire yesterday.
“The main principle of our recruitment has been to find talented young cricketers who are ready to play in the first team and Steven fits the billing,” said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
“He was impressive when he played against us in the Twenty20 Cup this season and he is able to bat at six or seven and offers a good medium-pace bowling option.
“I see him fitting into our one day side but he’ll be keen to show that he can play a part in the four-day game as well.”
