Nottinghamshire end Newman interest

Scott Newman scored 249 runs in 11 championship innings for Nottinghamshire, including 82 against Somerset at Taunton
Opening batsman Scott Newman is to return to Surrey after Nottinghamshire, where he had been on loan since July, decided not to pursue their interest.
The 29-year-old left-hander moved to Trent Bridge initially for a month, before the county decided to retain him until the end of the campaign.
Newman scored 249 runs in 11 LV= County Championship Division One innings for Notts, including 82 against Somerset at Taunton.
Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell said: "We've had a long look at Scott but we've decided not to pursue our interest any further.
"Scott made a decent contribution for us but Neil Edwards is joining us from Somerset and we want to give more responsibility to Alex Hales next season because he is starting to show that he is a capable opening batsman in four-day cricket."
Newman has a year to run on his Surrey contract.
