Notts quartet offered new deals
Nottinghamshire have offered new contracts to young seam trio Luke Fletcher, Mark Footitt and Andy Carter plus spinner Rob Ferley.
Following the release of AJ Harris and Gareth Clough, director of cricket Mick Newell is keen to develop young talent at Trent Bridge and is hopeful that the players will agree terms.
Newell needs the pace trio to provide cover for centrally contracted England bowler Ryan Sidebottom and all-rounder Stuart Broad. Ferley could act as back-up for England spinner Graeme Swann and all-rounder Samit Patel.
"Those four have got the offers from me and they're chewing them over," said Newell.
"With Fletcher, Footitt and Carter, we need to generate a new influx of quick bowlers behind our current first-team bowlers, so it's important that we work with them.
"Rob Ferley could have an increasingly important role given Samit Patel's international call-up."
