Notts reveal annual loss

That 10 World Twenty20 games were held at Trent Bridge last summer helped minimise the impact of not hosting a Test in 2009
Nottinghamshire have announced a loss of almost £150,000 for the last financial year.
The deficit was confirmed by Roy Dawson, chairman of the commercial and finance sub-committee, at the club’s annual general meeting at County Hall.
A pre-tax loss of £148,761 for the year ending September 30 2009 contrasted with a profit of £148,426 for the previous 12 months, and was attributed to the absence of a Test at Trent Bridge last summer.
Notts were expecting to lose more than £1million last year, but members were informed that the successful hosting of 10 matches in the World Twenty20 helped limit the deficit significantly.
The meeting also saw ex-Notts batmsan Mike Smedley appointed president for 2010 - he succeeds Nat Puri - while fellow former players Chris Broad and Eddie Hemmings were named vice-presidents.
