Notts pounce for Voges

Nottinghamshire have secured Adam Voges' services for the rest of the season, replacing David Hussey

Nottinghamshire have signed Australia batsman Adam Voges as a replacement for his departing compatriot David Hussey.

Hussey has been in scintillating form for the Trent Bridge outfit this summer, impressing in all forms of the game.

However, he has been recalled by state side Victoria as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League Twenty20 campaign, paving the way for Voges to join for a third stint.

The 30-year-old will join up with his team-mates after next week’s LV= County Championship clash with Lancashire.

And the club’s director of cricket, Mick Newell, is delighted to have secured his services.

“At this stage of the season it is important that anyone we bring in is familiar to us and Adam fits the bill perfectly,” he said.

“He has made significant contributions for us in the past and he was very keen to see out the season with us when it became clear that David would have to return home.”
