Record profit for Nottinghamshire

“International cricket is vital to our financial prosperity and having a guaranteed supply of matches to 2016 will allow us to continue to invest in our team and our venue,” said chairman Peter Wright
Nottinghamshire have announced a record surplus of £542,210 for the year to September 30 2011.
Strong ticket sales for international matches coupled with a significant increase in Friends Life t20 attendances and a rise in membership numbers contributed to the financial results for the most profitable county in 2010.
Notts chairman Peter Wright said: “Last year presented a number of challenges, not least a round of bidding for major matches, and delivering a record surplus against that backdrop reflects tremendously well on the people and the systems that we have in place at Trent Bridge.
“We will present a detailed analysis of our financial position, playing prospects and off-field plans to our members at the AGM in February.”
Trent Bridge won the right to host Ashes Tests in 2013 and 2015 on top of a prestigious India Test in 2014 and one-day internationals against New Zealand (2013 and 2015), Sri Lanka (2016) and Pakistan (2016).
It will also host three internationals this year: an Investec Test and NatWest International T20, both versus West Indies, and a NatWest Series one-day international against South Africa.
“International cricket is vital to our financial prosperity and having a guaranteed supply of matches to 2016 will allow us to continue to invest in our team and our venue,” added Wright.
“We’re very proud of what we have achieved but a lot of hard work remains and it is very important that our members and cricket supporters in general continue to attend matches at Trent Bridge.”

Good news for Notts and no wonder they can afford a big figure for Jimmy Taylor
