Elstone earns Notts deal
Promising batsman Scott Elstone has signed a full-time two-year contract with Nottinghamshire.
The 20-year-old academy graduate impressed on a summer contract, part-funded by the Alan Wheelhouse foundation, and is currently playing club cricket in Melbourne.
Elstone averaged 22 in four Clydesdale Bank 40 innings last season and made a solitary appearance in the Friends Provident t20.
“Last season was essentially an extended trial for Scott and he impressed a lot of people when he was around the first team,” said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.
“He captained our Notts Premier League team and scored heavily at key times for the second eleven and I’ve seen enough from him to offer him a full-time deal.
“He’s a hard-working cricketer and he can become a batting all-rounder with time.”
