White given fresh terms
Nottinghamshire have continued their preparations for next season by handing spinner Graeme White a new two-year contract.
White made the move to Trent Bridge from Northamptonshire two years ago and has since proved a regular in limited-overs cricket.
He is now hoping to kick on in the longest form of the game, in which he made just five appearances last season.
“I've had to be patient in terms of four-day cricket because Samit Patel is ahead of me and we rarely play two spinners at Trent Bridge but I've been pleased with what I've been able to do when I've had my chance,” said White.
“I want to play in all formats and Samit's success with England will create more opportunities for me. The Friends Life t20 matches at Trent Bridge have been particularly enjoyable for me and I would hope that we can reach finals day again soon.”
Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell added: “Graeme's bowling has steadily improved and we're more than confident in handing him the ball in all formats,” said Newell.
“He's key to the way we play t20 cricket and when he gets a chance with the red ball it's important that he grasps it because the spin bowling in Samit's absence will be key to any success that we have.”
