Somerset set to lose Rehman
Somerset will be lacking the services of Abdur Rehman for 10 days following the spinner’s call-up to Pakistan’s one-day international squad.
After the LV= County Championship Division One clash with Sussex next week, the 32-year-old - who took 6-16 on his Clydesdale Bank 40 debut, will travel to the United Arab Emirates to play three ODIs against Australia.
He is set to return in time for the reverse fixture against Ed Joyce’s side at the PROBIZ County Ground on September 4, meaning he will miss the CB40 match with Surrey at Taunton on August 27 and the championship game versus the same opponents a day later.
Ireland spinner George Dockrell is expected to return from the Under-19 World Cup in Australia in time to take Rehman’s place in the squad against Chris Adams’ team.
