Trego extends Somerset stay
All-rounder Peter Trego has signed a new three-year contract with Somerset.
The 31-year-old will be looking to build on his most successful season after his 50 LV= County Championship wickets and 600 runs, combined with some fine one-day performances, earned him the 2012 Most Valuable Player award.

All-rounder Peter Trego is delighted to have penned a new three-year deal at Somerset, saying: "I am very fortunate."
“Signing this new contract means that I will be playing for Somerset into my mid-30s, which is a huge personal achievement,” he said. “Not many players have a career that length so I am very fortunate to get this opportunity with the club that I love playing for.”
Chairman of the cricket committee Vic Marks added: “We are delighted that Pete has signed a new contract with us. Since returning to his home county in 2006, he has been a major force in helping Somerset become one of the most competitive sides in cricket.
“Pete is a superb professional and his 100 per cent commitment to Somerset has made him one of the most popular players among his team-mates and our members.
“There is no doubt in my mind that he will continue to make a magnificent contribution to Somerset in the years to come.”
