Trescothick forced to travel home

After careful consideration, Marcus Trescothick chose to travel to India, but will now not take part in the next stage
Somerset batsman Marcus Trescothick has returned home from the Champions League Twenty20 in India, due to what the county have termed “a recurrence of stress problems”.
The 33-year-old opening batsman will play no further part in the competition which has seen the Sabres qualify for the League A stage, where they will play against Diamond Eagles on Friday and New South Wales on Sunday.
A statement issued by Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose read: “Somerset County Cricket Club are delighted to proceed to the next stage of the Champions League.
“As you are all aware, Marcus Trescothick has made a great effort to travel to India to attend this exciting tournament.
“Regrettably it has not worked out for him regarding his personal well-being and he has travelled back to England to rejoin his family.
“The club and all his team mates have fully appreciated this effort and personal commitment and look forward to further success on his behalf.”
