Essex reveal pre-season friendlies

Essex face Surrey and Worcestershire in two-day games, either side of a 40-over encounter versus Middlesex also at Chelmsford

Essex will play three friendlies at Chelmsford against other first-class counties in preparation for the 2012 season.

James Foster’s team face Surrey and Worcestershire in two-day games from March 21 and 28 respectively, either side of a 40-over match versus Middlesex on March 26.

These precede a three-day contest with Cambridge MCCU at Fenner’s from March 31 and their first competitive fixture: against Gloucestershire in the LV= County Championship at Chelmsford from April 5.

Entry to the friendlies at Chelmsford is free and the expected start time for all days’ play is 11am.

Essex will also play the Unicorns in a 40-over friendly at Wormsley Cricket Club on April 15 with a 1pm start.
