Playing in New Zealand will be the third stage of a winter that has already taken Rory Hamilton-Brown to Hong Kong and Zimbabwe
Surrey captain Rory Hamilton-Brown has joined Wellington Firebirds for the remainder of New Zealand’s Twenty20 competition, the HRV Cup.
The 24-year-old all-rounder has taken over from former Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan midway through the tournament and is available for tomorrow’s game at home to Canterbury.
He faces a tall order if Wellington are to reach the final on January 22 as they are bottom of the six-team table, having played half of their 10 matches.
Hamilton-Brown has followed Surrey’s successful summer with a busy winter, leading England to second in the Hong Kong Sixes and helping Mashonaland Eagles finish runners-up in Zimbabwe’s domestic T20.
