Lou Vincent returns to the Lancashire squad for their LV County Championship match against Surrey at Blackpool.
Mal Loye is omitted from the squad which was chosen for the game against Kent, with 20-year-old batsman Karl Brown in line for his championship debut if selected.
Sajid Mahmood (side strain) and captain Stuart Law (back spasms) have been named in the line-up, subject to passing fitness tests.
Oliver Newby returns to the Lancashire ranks after a short loan spell with Gloucestershire and is likely to be competing with Tom Smith for the final bowling spot.
Chris Murtagh has been drafted into the Surrey squad to play in the match against Lancashire, with Stewart Walters making way.
The young batsman made 140 in a second XI game against Middlesex last week and has earned his call-up in place of the misfiring Walters.
Surrey have also kept faith with their dual spin attack of Saqlain Mushtaq and Murtaza Hussain, selecting the pair alongside pace bowlers Jade Dernbach, Pedro Collins and Matthew Nicholson. Loan signing Alex Tudor also retains his place in the squad after an impressive display against Sussex last week.
Mark Ramprakash, whose recent superb run has seen him score 490 unbeaten runs across three separate championship games before finally being dismissed, retains the captaincy with Mark Butcher missing with his ongoing knee problems.
He will be focused on leading Surrey to what would be a vital victory against a Lancashire side whose early season title dreams have been diminished by their recent loss to Kent.
