Lancefield let go
Opening batsman Tom Lancefield has been released by Surrey.
The 21-year-old left-hander, a graduate of the Pemberton Greenish Academy, has been involved with Surrey since the age of eight and broke into the club’s LV= County Championship side at the back end of the 2010 season.
However, he then missed the majority of the following campaign through injury and has now been deemed surplus to requirements at the Kia Oval.
Lancefield told Surrey’s official website: “It is very sad to be leaving Surrey after such a long time with the club, but I am looking forward to a fresh challenge as I look to continue my professional career.
“I would also like to thank all the people who have helped me during my time at the club.”
