Anyon joins Sussex

James Anyon, who played a single game on loan at Surrey in September, has moved from Warwickshire to Sussex
Sussex have signed right-arm seamer James Anyon on a two-year contract following Warwickshire’s decision to release the 26-year-old.
Anyon played just five senior games for Warwickshire this season as he recovered from a freak foot injury that prematurely ended his 2008 campaign, having taken 26 LV= County Championship wickets in seven appearances as Warwickshire won Division Two.
Anyon, who played one game on loan at Surrey in August and September, said: “I’m very excited about the move to Hove.
“Tim Ambrose and Stefan Piolet were both with Sussex and they had nothing but good things to say about the club, although I already knew how well run it was.
“I just want to settle down, bowl lots of overs and get back to the form I showed two or three years ago. It is time to start again.”
Professional cricket manager Mark Robinson added: “James has always performed very well against us, which is always a factor when you look to sign a new player. He’s at a great age and is hungry and looking for a fresh start.”
