Leg-spinner Will Beer has signed a new two-year contract with Sussex.

The 24-year-old, a graduate of the club’s academy set-up, featured frequently in limited-overs cricket throughout 2012.

Sussex coach Mark Davis said: “Will has steadily improved year upon year and it is great from a club perspective that he has signed a new contract.

“Hopefully this will allow him to develop further and develop into the complete player we think he can be.”

Beer, who made his debut for Sussex back in 2008, added: “It is a fantastic honour for me to sign a new two-year contract.

“I have grown up playing my cricket with Sussex and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and hopefully contributing towards winning trophies for this club.”
