TwelfthMan: My account

Hove spectators could be observing a radically different landscape by 2011 if full development proposals go ahead
Sussex have appointed Farnrise Construction as main contractors for the first phase of ground development at Hove.
Farnrise, who operate out of Caterham and Emsworth, will construct new groundsman’s facilities, toilets and catering block at the north end of the County Ground, and demolish the Gilligan Stand in readiness for the major building planned for the 2010-11 close-season.
Work will commence on site in early December, with the Gilligan coming down in January.
Sussex chairman Jim May said: "After many years of trying, I am delighted that the development of the County Ground is due to start next month.
“The project management team, headed up by the local offices of Synergy Ltd and Miller Bourne Architects, have worked diligently with the team here at Sussex to deliver an exciting vision for the ground and it will be a pleasure to watch this come to life over the next two winters."
Dave Brooks, Sussex chief executive, added: "Appointing our phase one main contractor is a significant step for the club and we were delighted to have had the choice of a number of locally-based companies, all of which have supported the club for many years.
“I am confident the team at Farnrise will do a fantastic job in kicking off our development and we look forward to working with them over this winter."
Sussex have now had two planning applications approved, and await Brighton and Hove Council’s ruling on the third phase on December 16.
That application covers potential building of hospitality facilities, new South and South West stands, plus refurbishment to the members pavilion and extension of the indoor school.
