Seam bowler Andrew Miller has the chance to impress Sussex on their pre-season tour of Dubai after being named in a 17-man squad

Miller, released by the LV= County Champions at the end of 2012, is on trial at the BrightonandHovejobs.com County Ground and has been named in a 17-man squad.

Sussex will initially play in the Emirates Airline Twenty20 tournament, an event they won last year, and will also play a two-day game against Lancashire together with a brace of 40-over matches.

Matt Prior and Monty Panesar miss the trip due to England duty, while Luke Wright will also be absent as he prepares for an Indian Premier League stint with Pune Warriors.

However, skipper Ed Joyce and Matt Machan are set to link up with Sussex once their respective international commitments with Ireland and Scotland come to an end.

Sussex squad for pre-season trip to Dubai: Ed Joyce (captain), Amjad Khan, James Anyon, Will Beer, Ben Brown, Joe Gatting, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Lewis Hatchett, Chris Jordan, Chris Liddle, Matt Machan, Steve Magoffin, Andrew Miller, Chris Nash, Michael Rippon, Luke Wells, Michael Yardy.
