Sussex toast new Beer deal

Will Beer snares James Hildreth at Edgbaston, one of seven wickets for the leg-spinner in this season's Twenty20 Cup
Sussex have secured the future of their promising young leg-spinner, Will Beer, handing him a new three-year contract through to 2012.
The 21-year-old was a near ever-present in the Sharks’ limited-overs double last season, taking 2-29 in the Twenty20 Cup final win over Somerset at Edgbaston in August.
He was also in the Sussex squad for their trip to India for the Champions League Twenty20.
Beer did not play a single first-class game in 2009, though he had a real impact in the Second XI Championship, taking 10 wickets in a match against Kent at Canterbury.
Beer said: “I am very excited about the next three years at the club and continuing the club’s recent success.
“I want to build on my first year of first-team cricket and am really looking forward to working with Monty Panesar – using his experience as a spinner to drive my game forward.”
Sussex club coach Mark Davis said: “We’re really pleased that Will has signed a new three-year deal.
“If his improvement last year is anything to go by, his development curve is moving in the right direction and signing an extended contract will allow him the opportunity of developing into a match-winning leg-spinner.”
