Evans completes Edgbaston switch
Warwickshire have signed former Surrey batsman Laurie Evans on a one-year contract.
The 23-year-old spent a month on loan at Edgbaston last term and has completed a permanent move after being released by Surrey - despite making five centuries in the second XI last season.
A Durham University graduate, Evans’ only first-class hundred to date came for Durham UCCE against Lancashire in 2007.
He joins Pakistan's Younus Khan and Gloucestershire's William Porterfield in strengthening the batting line-up for Ashley Giles' side in 2011.
Meanwhile, Warwickshire have been further boosted by the news that last year’s PCA Players’ Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player Neil Carter has signed a two-year contract extension.
The 35-year-old all-rounder agreed the deal before he returned to South Africa at the end of the season.
