Trio commit to County Champions
Two members of Warwickshire’s LV= County Championship-winning side - together with Second XI captain Ateeq Javid - have signed contract extensions at Edgbaston.
Former England wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose has penned a three-year deal, while opening batsman Ian Westwood and Javid will now remain with the club until the end of 2014.
In seven seasons with Warwickshire, Ambrose, 29, has contributed 4,002 first-class runs at an average of 35, while also effecting 257 dismissals behind the stumps.
Westwood, captain at Edgbaston in 2009 and 2010, is a one-club man, having made his Warwickshire debut in 2003. He averages 34 in four-day cricket, but improved on that mark by nine when striking 771 runs, including two hundreds, in this year’s triumphant championship campaign.

Tim Ambrose passed 4,000 first-class runs for Warwickshire this summer and will now spend a further three years at Edgbaston
Young batsman Javid, meanwhile, has made eight first-class and three List A appearances to date.
Warwickshire assistant coach Dougie Brown said: “Tim and Ian have been key members of the senior squad for several years. They both played a major role in last season's LV= County Championship win, and to secure their futures here at Edgbaston is a great boost for the club.
“Ateeq is an exciting, young batsman with a great future ahead of him. He's constantly looking at ways to improve his game and has recently returned to Australia after spending last winter there. He just needs to keep working hard and grasp his opportunity to become an established member of the senior team when it comes.”
