Wright completes Warwickshire switch

Chris Wright strikes for Warwickshire in the final game of the season, one of 22 wickets for employers who have now become permanent
Essex seamer Chris Wright, who spent the final month of the season on loan at Warwickshire, has made his move to Edgbaston permanent.
The 26-year-old played the last four games of Warwickshire’s LV= County Championship campaign - as many as he managed all summer at Essex.
His 22 wickets at 24.31 apiece were central to Warwickshire’s title challenge - they fell short on the final day of the season - and helped earn him a three-year contract.
“Chris made a tremendous impact during his short time in our bowling attack, and his five-wicket hauls against Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire were crucial in our late-season charge,” said director of cricket Ashley Giles.
“Finishing as runners-up in the 2011 County Championship was a great achievement for this team, despite the final-day heartache against Hampshire.
“However, that experience and signing of a player of Chris’ calibre will make us a stronger unit in 2012.”
Wright, who made his first-class debut in 2004, spent four seasons at Middlesex before joining Essex ahead of the 2008 season. He has taken 157 wickets at an average of 39.27 in 63 first-class matches.
