Worcestershire’s Gareth Andrew has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension, which keeps him at New Road through to the end of the 2013 season.
The 27-year-old all-rounder has enjoyed an excellent 2011 season, with 53 wickets and 807 runs in all competitions, resulting in him being second in the PCA MVP behind Marcus Trescothick.
Andrew, who joined from Somerset in 2008, was Worcestershire’s second highest scorer in the Friends Life t20 with 257 runs. He also took 19 wickets.
He said: "I am delighted to extend my contract with the club for another two years. There's a great atmosphere in the dressing room and the team are progressing well for the future. Hopefully we can continue our development to maintain Division One status next year."
Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes added: "To hold on to a player of Gareth's abilities is a huge boost to the club and our supporters. His career is on an upward curve with the best years ahead of him."
