Mason extends Worcestershire stay
Veteran seamer Matt Mason has signed a one-year contract extension with Worcestershire, the county have announced.
Mason, who has taken 29 LV= County Championship wickets this term with a best of 7-39, has agreed the deal that will see him continue to combine his playing role along with his status as a bowling coach with the county.
Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "Yet again Matt has proved to be one of our front line bowlers this season and I am delighted he has agreed to carry on playing for at least another season whilst continuing to have such a valuable input with our young bowling attack in his coaching role."
Mason added: "I am absolutely thrilled to sign a contract for a further year.
“The plans the club has for the future excite me and I want to be part of that future.
“We have a new winter base at Malvern College to look forward to using and we are producing a group of exciting young players coming through the Academy and 2nd XI ranks.
“I enjoy my part time role as bowling coach but still feel I have much to offer as a player. The club has been very good to me and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.”
