Shantry and Jones sign on

Richard Jones has become a central figure in the Worcestershire seam attack - as 38 first-class wickets this season testifies
Seamers Jack Shantry and Richard Jones have committed their futures to Worcestershire by signing new contracts.
Twenty-two-year-old left-armer Shantry, whose current deal was due to expire in 2011, has agreed an extension that will keep him at New Road until the end of the 2013 season.
Jones, 23, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract taking him to the end of next summer.
Shantry has established himself as a key member of the Worcestershire attack in all forms of cricket.
Only Alan Richardson has taken more than Jones’ 38 wickets - at 33.71 apiece - in first-class cricket this season, which includes a haul of 7-115 against Sussex at Hove in May.
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: “Jack has made real progress this year in all formats of the game and has more than earned a new contract with us, whilst Richard has developed well as a genuine quick bowler.
“His early-season form was outstanding and he continues to learn the arts of his trade.
“Along with many of our other younger players, they have really gained from the amount of cricket they have played and both are model professionals. We look forward to them both making further progress in the years ahead.”
