New Road floods force venue switch
Worcestershire have confirmed Monday’s Clydesdale Bank 40 fixture against the Netherlands will take place at Kidderminster after their New Road ground once again fell victim to flooding.
The flood levels at New Road peaked last night at four metres and there remains a substantial amount of standing water on the outfield.
While only part of the ground is underwater at present, the venue for Worcestershire’s LV= County Championship match against Surrey, scheduled to commence on May 9th, will be decided at a later date once the club has had the opportunity to evaluate the condition of the pitch and affected facilities.
Further details with regards to Monday’s match will be posted on Worcestershire’s website over the next few days.
