Yorkshire fans will be able to follow their side throughout the 2009 season after BBC Radio Leeds announced it will broadcast ball-by-ball commentary of every domestic match.
Last summer the station introduced live commentary for Yorkshire’s LV County Championship and Twenty20 Cup games, which proved so popular that the BBC has also pledged to cover Friends Provident Trophy and NatWest Pro40 matches this year.
Dave Callaghan, the BBC Radio cricket correspondent, will continue to provide regular updates to the BBC’s five local Yorkshire stations - Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Tees and York.
Yorkshire chief executive Stewart Regan said: “I would like to thank the BBC for their continued support of Yorkshire cricket which is great news for our supporters.
“In a county so vast and when we have ex-pats in all corners of the globe, it means that everyone can follow the side wherever they are.
“I’d also like to praise Dave Callaghan for his Herculean efforts - his undying commitment is incredible when you consider his heavy workload, but his obvious enthusiasm for Yorkshire cricket is infectious and is a great asset to the club.”
