Pyrah pens new Yorkshire deal
Richard Pyrah has committed his immediate future to Yorkshire by signing a contract extension.
The medium-pacer’s current deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but he has agreed a new contract which will keep him at Headingley Carnegie for a further year.
Pyrah, 26, made his first-class debut in 2004 but it was not until last summer that he established himself in the side.
Though he played just five LV County Championship games in 2008, he was an ever-present in Yorkshire's one-day team, topping their Twenty20 averages with 14 wickets at under 15 apiece.
“I'm delighted with the deal,” said Pyrah. “I think it is an exciting time for the club.
“With the way things went for me last year, I'm quite positive about playing in all competitions if I can start the season well.”
