Ajmal Shahzad has ended weeks of speculation by signing a new three-year deal with Yorkshire.
The 24-year-old all-rounder chipped in with vital runs and wickets as Yorkshire maintained their LV= County Championship Division One status and has been rewarded with a new deal that will keep him at Headingley Carnegie until 2011.
Yorkshire have also tied up an extension for wicketkeeper-batsman Gerard Brophy's contract that will also see him stay with the White Rose for the next two seasons.
Stewart Regan, Yorkshire’s chief executive, said: “It is excellent news that our players are committing their futures to Yorkshire.
“Ajmal Shahzad has enjoyed a hugely promising 2009 season and Gerard Brophy continues to impress with the gloves and middle-order runs.”
Youngsters Gary Ballance, Oliver Hanonn-Dalby and Ben Sanderson have also signed new contracts.
Ballance and Hannon-Dalby have signed contracts until the end of the 2012 season and Sanderson’s deal runs until the end of 2011.
Regan added: “Our academy has been incredibly successful and it is crucial to the future of the club that our talented youngsters remain at Headingley Carnegie.”
