Wainwright returns to Yorkshire

David Wainwright will return to Yorkshire after Azeem Rafiq was ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn hamstring
Yorkshire have recalled David Wainwright from his one-month loan spell with Derbyshire after fellow spinner Azeem Rafiq was ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn hamstring.
It is a particularly cruel blow for Rafiq, who had just started to establish himself in the Yorkshire first-team with several promising displays in this year’s Friends Life t20 competition following a fruitful spell of his own with Derbyshire.
With just Adil Rashid their only fit option as a frontline spinner, Yorkshire opted to end Wainwright’s short stay at Derby.
The slow left-armer, who was supposed to provide cover while Tom Knight represents England Under-19’s in the one-day series against South Africa, did not feature for Luke Sutton's men after linking up with the club on July 2.
