Surrey County Cricket Club are offering free tickets to all cricket clubs in Surrey which register for NatWest CricketForce 2006.
NatWest CricketForce, an initiative set up by ECB, encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.
Thanks to the support of over 50,000 volunteers, which included many of the England squad, an estimated £15 million was raised in investment last year.
This year’s event will take place on April 8 and 9 when players from the Surrey squad will be getting along to as many registered clubs as possible to offer their support.
Each club in Surrey which registers will receive vouchers, which can be redeemed at the ticket office at The Brit Oval on matchday for 30 tickets, and get the chance to host the likes of Martin Bicknell, Mark Butcher, Tim Murtagh, Scott Newman or Rikki Clarke.
Surrey are hoping to be one of the leading counties in terms of the number of clubs that register to take part in NatWest Cricketforce.
Martin Bicknell hopes that this will be the case and said: “The CricketForce initiative is one we should all get behind as it encourages the further development of grassroots cricket.
“As we all know, this is where Surrey’s long-term future lies so I urge all cricket clubs in Surrey to get behind it and register now.”
