Leicestershire’s Dillon du Preez scored more sixes in domestic one-day cricket during August than anyone else, landing him the monthly Sky Sports Sixes League award.
The batsman is now sitting in 10th position in the table after an impressive month swa him hit 13 maximums from 119 balls, two more than Marcus Trescothick with Northamptonshire’s Riki Wessels one six further back and moving up the table fast.
Essex’s Graham Napier remains the clear favourite to capture the overall title with 36 sixes from 327 deliveries.
He is nine maximums ahead of team-mate Ravi Bopara who is second with 27 from 665 balls. Kent’s Azhar Mahmood is third with 25 sixes, ranked ahead of Trescothick due to facing fewer deliveries.
The Sky Sports Sixes League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the top 10 batsmen who have hit the most sixes in Friends Provident Trophy, Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40 matches.
It provides batsmen with another incentive for big-hitting with £2,000 and the Sixes trophy, presented at the annual NatWest PCA awards dinner for the winner, plus awards for each month’s big hitter.
