Flintoff set for return

Andrew Flintoff has worked hard to overcome his ankle injury

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has been cleared to make his comeback for Lancashire’s second XI this week.

The 29-year-old has missed the entire international summer so far after a troublesome ankle injury required surgery.

But the ECB has given Flintoff its blessing to play as a batsman only for his county’s second string in their championship clash with Derbyshire at Blackpool, which starts this Tuesday.
