Leicestershire have re-signed Pakistan teenager Mansoor Amjad as one of their two overseas players for the 2007 season.

The 19-year-old leg-spinner had a brief spell with the Foxes last season as a replacement for Dinesh Mongia but was forced to return home after suffering a finger injury.

Leicestershire coach Tim Boon said: “I feel we have unearthed a gem in Mansoor, who is totally committed to Leicestershire and desperate to follow in the footsteps of Mushtaq Ahmed and Danish Kaneria.

"I have spoken extensively to Pakistan Coach Bob Woolmer and he feels that this is a great opportunity for Leicestershire and Pakistan given Mansoor's genuine ability as an all-rounder.

"I am pleased to say that Mansoor is now fully fit and very excited about the prospect of playing for Leicestershire.

"I am confident he will learn quickly in our environment and mature into an international cricketer as well as taking match-winning wickets for Leicestershire along the way.

"He is a very affable young man and will be a credit to Leicestershire and the community."
