Warwickshire and Worcestershire captains Jim Troughton and Daryl Mitchell will go head-to-head at Edgbaston on Friday 15 June

Marston’s Pedigree, the official beer of Warwickshire and Worcestershire, are behind the initiative for the game, which starts at 5.10pm and is due to finish at around 8pm when fans can stay in the ground to watch England’s footballers take on Sweden in the European Championships on giant screens after the cricket.

Marston’s head of brands marketing Des Gallagher said: “As the official beer of Warwickshire and Worcestershire County Cricket Clubs, we thought it was a superb opportunity to say thank you to cricket fans and our loyal Marston’s Pedigree drinkers with free tickets to an exciting match between the Bears and the Royals. Midlands’ cricket bragging rights are at stake for supporters!”

Warwickshire chief executive Colin Povey said: “The rivalry between Warwickshire and Worcestershire goes back many years and the opportunity for so many Bears supporters to watch this match for free will make for a great occasion that will be broadcast live across the UK on Sky Sports.

“Once the cricket finishes fans will be able to enjoy England’s European Championship football match against Sweden live on the big screen here at the ground.

“Following the £32million redevelopment of the Pavilion End, a packed Edgbaston has a very special match day atmosphere. We hope the chance to claim free tickets will allow thousands of Bears fans to get behind the team in this great derby fixture.”
