The Friends Provident t20 finals day line-up has been confirmed and kicks off at the Rose Bowl on Saturday 14 August with Hampshire Royals against Essex Eagles, followed by Nottinghamshire Outlaws against Somerset.
Friends Provident t20 finals day - the Rose Bowl
11.30am: Hampshire Royals vs Essex Eagles
3pm: Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Somerset
Hampshire have made it through to finals day for the first time thanks to a five-wicket victory over Warwickshire Bears and will be hoping that home advantage can carry them towards the FP t20 title.
Nottinghamshire booked their place at the Rose Bowl thanks to a 13-run victory over defending champions Sussex Sharks in Monday’s second quarter-final.
The Outlaws have reached finals day once before in 2006 when they finished as runners-up, falling just four runs short of the total set by Leicestershire Foxes.
Somerset beat Northamptonshire Steelbacks by seven wickets in Taunton to reach finals day for the third time.
Somerset won the Twenty20 competition in 2005 and as last year’s runners-up they will be hoping that they can go one better in 2010 and be crowned FP t20 champions.
The fourth finals day spot was secured by Essex, who defeated Lancashire Lightning by eight wickets in Tuesday's second quarter-final.
The Eagles will be hoping to better their only previous appearance at finals day, which was in 2008 when they lost in the semi-final to Kent Spitfires.
All four counties have an allocation of tickets for FP t20 finals day and detailed ticket information for each county can be found on their respective websites.
