Somerset have been deprived of Richard Levi and Albie Morkel’s services for the Friends Life t20 Midlands/Wales/West Group clash with Northamptonshire.

The South African duo, who starred in Somerset’s opening victory over Warwickshire, have temporarily returned home for the unofficial Twenty20 tri-series in Zimbabwe, meaning director of cricket Brian Rose will make changes to his side's batting line-up.

In-form batsman Nick Compton, the first player to reach 1,000 first-class runs this term, is likely to open the batting with Peter Trego, who replaces England wicketkeeper-batsman Craig Kieswetter.

The game at Taunton sees the Irish O’Brien brothers go head-to-head, with big-hitting all-rounder Kevin, signed by Somerset for the first five Flt20 matches, lining up against wicketkeeper-batsman Niall.

Hamish Marshall will lead Gloucestershire for the first time since replacing Alex Gidman as T20 skipper at Worcester.

Alex’s brother, Will, is rested so David Payne, Ian Saxelby and James Fuller will take on the seam-bowling responsibilities.

Worcestershire continue to be without Sohail Tanvir after the paceman was called up to Pakistan’s one-day international squad for the series with Sri Lanka.

The Welsh Dragons take on Warwickshire in front of a sell-out crowd at the SWALEC Stadium.

Samit Patel returns to the Nottinghamshire side for the North Group encounter at Durham.

The all-rounder's absence from England’s team to face West Indies in the first Natwest Series one-day international at the Ageas Bowl allows him to return to a 13-man squad, which also includes Graeme White and Luke Fletcher.

Durham have kept the same set of players that claimed two points at Headingley Carnegie last night, meaning Herschelle Gibbs and Johann Myburgh are in line to make their home debuts.

Yorkshire have added England batsman Jonny Bairstow to their squad as they entertain defending champions Leicestershire, who have lost their opening two matches.

Kent and Surrey, fresh from starting their campaign with two victories, face off at Beckenham.

The hosts could give batsman Sam Billings and all-rounder Fabian Cowdrey starts, while Lions team director Chris Adams has England seamer Jade Dernbach at his disposal and may give paceman Chris Tremlett the go-ahead to make his long-awaited return from a back injury.

Middlesex are without England duo Steven Finn and Eoin Morgan for the visit of Sussex to Lord’s.

Seamer Robbie Williams is on the sidelines with a broken collarbone sustained in the warm-up match against West Indies earlier this week.

The Sharks, looking to play their first match of the competition following two washouts in their opening two fixtures, will give debuts to overseas duo Scott Styris and Juan Theron.
