With skipper Andrew Gale a doubt, Azeem Rafiq, pictured, could become the youngest captain in Yorkshire's history when they take on Durham

Azeem Rafiq could become the youngest ever captain of Yorkshire when they take on Durham in the Friends Life t20 this evening.

In-form club captain Andrew Gale is a doubt after sustaining a hip muscle injury in training on Wednesday, meaning 21-year-old Rafiq is in line to take over.

He would also become the first player of Asian origin to skipper Yorkshire if Gale fails a late fitness test.

The Dynamos will be looking to do the double over the White Rose following their win at Headingley Carnegie last week, and they have named an unchanged 15-man squad.

Luke Fletcher has recovered from a knee injury and is in contention to make his first appearance since April in Nottinghamshire’s North Group tie against Lancashire at Old Trafford.

In the final North Group fixture of the evening, Derbyshire are set to field an unchanged side for their trip to Grace Road to face a Leicestershire outfit looking for a first win in this year's competition.

Sussex will be without England wicketkeeper-batsman Matt Prior for their South Group clash against Middlesex at the PROBIZ County Ground. He remains unavailable due to a minor Achilles strain.

Hampshire will be missing Danny Briggs, who is part of England's NatWest International T20 squad, for the visit of Kent to the Ageas Bowl.

The Spitfires, meanwhile, will be able to call on James Tredwell, the off-spinner having been released from England duty following the abandonment of today's final ODI against West Indies at Headingley.

Stuart Meaker, Jonny Bairstow and Samit Patel have also been made available for county action.

Meaker's Surrey side will travel to Chelmsford in their first fixture since Tom Maynard’s tragic death on Monday for a South Group top-of-the-table clash against Essex, who will still be without Ravi Bopara.

Surrey captain Rory Hamilton-Brown, who shared a house with Maynard, has been left out of the squad on compassionate grounds, so Gareth Batty will lead the team.

Somerset welcome the Welsh Dragons to Taunton in the Midlands/Wales/West Group, and the hosts are expected to name the same side from yesterday’s abandoned fixture against Warwickshire, with Steve Snell behind the stumps.

Northamptonshire will still be without club captain Andrew Hall due to a back injury for their trip to Bristol this evening.

Gloucestershire are without Benny Howell due to illness as they aim for their first t20 win of the season.

Worcestershire welcome Warwickshire to New Road in the other Midlands/Wales/West Group tie, with the hosts aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
